बिहार का प्रशासनिक विभाजन इस प्रकार है - बिहार को 9 डिवीजन में बांटा गया है जिसमें 38 जिला हैं। फिर जिलों का विभाजन 101 सब-डिवीज़न में किया गया है। सब-डिवीज़न का विभाजन 534 ब्लॉक में एवं ब्लॉक को 8,053 पंचायत में बांटा गया है। पंचायत के भीतर 45,103 राजस्व ग्राम आते हैं।
प्रशासनिक रूप से डिवीजन का मालिक कमिश्नर होता है, और जिले का मालिक डिस्ट्रिक्ट मजिस्ट्रेट होता है। सबडिवीजन का मालिक सब-डिविजनल ऑफिसर (SDO) होता है, और ब्लॉक का मालिक ब्लॉक डेवलपमेंट ऑफिसर (BDO) होता है। पंचायत का मुख्य अधिकारी पंचायत सचिव होता है।
मुखिया पंचायत का चुना गया जनप्रतिनिधि है जैसे मुख्यमंत्री राज्य के होते हैं। विधान सभा की संख्या 243 है जिससे विधायक चुने जाते हैं। ब्लॉक स्तर पर चुने गए जनप्रतिनिधि को जिला पार्षद कहते हैं। पंचायत के स्तर पर हीं सरपंच का भी चुनाव होता है।

The administrative divisions of Bihar are as follows: Bihar is divided into 9 divisions, comprising 38 districts. These districts are further divided into 101 subdivisions. The subdivisions are divided into 534 blocks, and the blocks are divided into 8,053 panchayats. Within the panchayats are 45,103 revenue villages.
Administratively, the head of a division is the Commissioner, and the head of a district is the District Magistrate. The head of a subdivision is the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), and the head of a block is the Block Development Officer (BDO). The chief officer of a panchayat is the Panchayat Secretary.
The Mukhiya is the elected representative of the panchayat, similar to how the Chief Minister is the elected head of the state. The Legislative Assembly has 243 seats, from which Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) are elected. The elected representative at the block level is called the Zila Parishad member. The Sarpanch is also elected at the panchayat level.
